Our Team
The PCD Foundation was co-founded in 2002 by Michele Manion and Lynn Ehrne. Since then, the Foundation has grown under the guidance of dedicated leaders who are deeply committed to our mission—finding a cure for primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD).
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is composed of individuals directly impacted by PCD, including patients and parents. This governing body is responsible for overseeing Foundation operations, financial stewardship, and grant-making efforts. It also sets the strategic direction and ensures strong organizational governance in accordance with our founding policies and incorporation documents. In addition to its oversight role, the Board is actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the Foundation. To enhance its work, the Board is supported by two key advisory groups: the Medical & Scientific Advisory Council and the Advisory Council.
Medical & Scientific Advisory Council (MSAC)
The MSAC advises the Foundation on all matters related to clinical care, scientific research, and medical advancements in the field of PCD. This council is made up of internationally recognized experts in both basic and clinical science, and their guidance is instrumental to the Foundation’s efforts.
Advisory Council (AC)
The Advisory Council provides guidance on issues outside of science and medicine, contributing expertise in areas such as communications, nonprofit governance, fundraising, and community engagement. This group helps ensure that the Foundation remains responsive and effective across all areas of its work.
