The PCD Foundation is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual PCD National Walk-a-Thon to be held October, 2006. The annual Walk-a-Thon is a major fundraising effort for the PCD Foundation and we look forward to your participation in a fun, fulfilling and successful event! You choose the weekend, we'll provide the assistance you need to meet (or exceed) your personal goals! Foundation goals this year include having walks in 15 cities and raising a total of $30,000 (please watch our progress on the website at www.pcdfoundation.org).
Financial benefit is only part of the story, however. Previous Walk-a-Thons have provided excellent opportunities to raise awareness about PCD and educate the public about this little understood disorder.
Walk-a-Thon coordinator, Gina Manning is available to answer your questions and provide logistical assistance. A Walk Coordinator's packet is available online at the PCD Foundation website or from Gina (see below).
If you are planning a walk, please contact the PCD Foundation or Gina Manning with details. We would like to publicize scheduled walks on the website to encourage community participation.
The PCD Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is the only patient-sponsored organization in the United States dedicated to people with inherited ciliary disorders. Events like the annual Walk-a-Thon allow us to continue our important mission of supporting research and providing education and advocacy for people with inherited ciliary disorders.
